Only in College

So last night was an interesting night.  Around 9 p.m. a girl (probably drunk) comes over and knocks on my apartment door.  She is wrapped in a towel and has a 2 piece pink bikini underneath.  She tells me to hold her towel while she pours a bottle of kirkland signature water over her.  I have to admit that she was pretty hot but I couldn't help but think about the similarities between Paris Hilton and Carl's Jr. and her and Costco brand water.  Kinda funny and hot at the same time.

I also wanted to remind myself how well I'm doing at meeting my goals in my nike +.  This device is pretty neat and I'm able to track my progress including distance, time, calories burned etc.  I also like the challenge feature where other people using this system try to motivate you to reach your goals.  The downside that I see is the sensor having a very short battery life.  Overall, I would rather have the Garmin Forerunner 305, however, I like the user interface and challenge option of the nike +.  If the Garmin unit was set up so that users could challenge each other and show progress in meeting goals, then I would definitely trade in my nike + for the forerunner.  Going to run tomorrow morning, so g'nite.

The Summer Challenge

Don't ever shop at Circuit City, they are the most inefficient retail company.  I waited 20 minutes in line (I was second in line to begin) to pick up a nike + sports armband that I had purchased online.  After waiting in line, I was told to stand to the side once I had paid while somebody was going to check in the back for my item.  I waited another 15 minutes.  I started getting pissed because there is just no excuse for anyone to have to wait 15 minutes to get an item that I had previously ordered on their website and had already paid for.  Just bad customer service...

But now, I'm all set because I have a really cool item that should keep my interest for at least a month.  I tested it out and it is pretty cool.  I created a nike+ account which will allow me to keep track of my runs.  I did a little bit of walking today.  I need to find a good mix to run to.  Actually it's my dad's ipod, that i'm just borrowing...but he'll get another one soon when he or my sister gets a computer.

My family came to visit me this weekend.  Spent lots of time eating.  I even got the chance to show off my cooking/baking skills.  I also got to have dim sum in Rolland Heights, which I haven't had in such a long time since I've been in LA.  Also got to spend time in Laguna Beach and Venice.  I swear, that in Laguna Beach BMW's are a dime a dozen.  My Bimmer would blend right in.  Well, I'm glad that they came to visit me and I'll see them in a month when we take a family trip to Hawaii.

I loan because I care

I stumbled across this really cool site that can help change the world.  By loaning money with 0% interest, to business entrepreneurs in need, I can really help make their dreams a reality.  So far, I've decided to donate to 2 individuals, that will be able to use my loan to build their business and in the process create a better standard of living for themselves, their families, and their community.  I hope that their business idea will be a success and that one day, they will be able to help others that may be more needy.
